The Center for regional development in the town of Targovishte is a non-profit organization registered according to Law of Non- economic Function Juridical Persons, with a decision of Targovishte Regional Court, dated 12.12.2002.

Members of the organization are the Juridical Persons:
• Antonovo municipality
• Omourtag municipality
• Opaka municipality
• Popovo municipality
• Targovishte municipality

Main objectives of the Organization are:
• To promote the use, development, management, preserving and protection of the nature resources in Targovishte region
• Development and fulfillment of infrastructure and investment projects

The Organization fulfills its objectives by following means:
• Actively participates with projects in European programmes
• Develops projects to apply for local and foreign financing
• Develops infrastructure and investment projects
• Get into contact with similar local and international organizations
• Collaborates with state and municipal authorities

The Organization assigns following aims to fulfill its objectives:
• Finding, processing and interpreting of statistic data and other information for region date base creation
• Carry out activities connected to technology of organization and management of local authorities and their enterprises
• Development, organization and implementation of special training courses and programmes according to members and other people’s needs
• Collaboration with similar Bulgarian and foreign organizations
• Assisting in perspective initiatives and programmes for development of agriculture, tourism, forest industry, hunting and fishing and other natural resources
• Signing programme contracts

The organization’s directions to fulfill its aims:
• Researching and registration of local resources
• Development, organization and implementation of special training courses and programmes according to members and other people’s needs
• Collaboration and participation in other Bulgarian and foreign organizations or juridical persons having similar objectives and activities
• Finding, processing and interpreting of statistic data and other information for region date base creation with actual economic information to provide organization members or other people
• Undertaking and assisting in perspective initiatives and programmes for development of agriculture, tourism, forest industry, hunting and fishing and other natural resources
• Development and applying programmes for protection and restoration of the environment, including government and EU structures financing
• Training of local management experts and their enterprises or other juridical persons
• Signing programme contracts

Projects in process:

‘Information partnership bridge’ project is in process, financed by FLSGR, supported by CAID.
The main objective of the project is to create prerequisites for investment attracting in Targovishte region through actual date base creation and information image of municipalities, members of Targovishte Center for regional development, to build information partnership and bridge of dialogue, between the municipalities and eventual investors. The objective will be fulfilled through following directions: classification, providing and expert analysis of information for the condition of economics, infrastructure and social spectrum in the region. Preparing and issuing of information catalogue, presenting the municipalities to eventual investors and financing opportunities, is envisaged. Web site of the organization will be made, with reference notes of all municipalities, members of the organization, current projects and initiatives, cultural calendar, presentation of local arts and crafts by virtual gallery, interesting tourist sites and attractions, historic and archeological sights on territory of the region.
